Enjoyed all of this! We are planning to go camping with our 4, 3, and 1 year old boys this summer - and my brother and his wife.... for extra hands and company. :)

I love this so much! What beautiful writing!

Our four children are all adults now, but reading this brought a rush of sweet memories of our many camping trips. We camped a lot. First in tents and then in a pop-up. Our kids (and the miscellaneous cousin or friend) still recount memories or specific smells that remind them of camping - wet camping gear being the most popular, the most delicious sloppy joes over the camp fire as everything tastes better in the woods, and rip-roaring camp fires. And, it almost always rained. We had lots of wet stuff at the end of the trips. And, it was wonderful.

Oh…and I nearly neglected to add… while I worked hard too, my husband, quietly did all of the behind- the-scenes work that made it something we all loved doing… 42 year later, he’s still doing all of those things 💕

Thank you, Lynnr! You're right on about the eating--everything tastes better in the woods! During our WY trip (when I was very pregnant), we made a hodgepodge chili from two different recipes--our favorite plus our friends' favorite. We've never been able to replicate it but all agree it was the best chili ever!

And bless your husband! He sounds like a wonderful man. May God continue to bless your marriage!
